Forty years after the final log drive, the Kennebec River continues to shape Skowhegan’s identity, as the town looks to recreation to enhance quality of life and bolster the local economy.
Drawing by local artist Desiree Dow DuBois, in honor of her father and his many ancestors who were Maine outdoorsmen and women who hunted, fished, and adventured in the Maine woods and on the Kennebec and Allagash rivers.
